Litzinger Career Consulting is distinctly positioned to help during uncertain times, since owner Karen Litzinger is a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized training in grief and loss as well as a Certified Career Counselor, the highest designation through the National Career Development Association. Most clients work directly with Karen, although we have the capacity to tap career coach affiliates through the Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association and beyond. Karen has been exclusively doing career coaching for decades, so no risks of someone new to the field.

Personalized Approach:

There are no cookie-cutter outplacement services here. If you are laying off hundreds of employees, then you may need that scale and approach for cost-effectiveness. If you value more individualized services still at a reasonable fee, read on. Perhaps you may want to offer some employees more personalized services while offering other employees on-line platforms; this might be based on level in the organization, complicated termination or employee background, or need for career change counseling as much as job search advising. Even remote workshops for larger groups are personalized and interactive since limited to 15 attendees.

How Delivered:

Coaching meetings are typically video or phone, with an in-person option if in the Western PA area.  Small group engagements may begin with an interactive webinar, followed by individual career coaching sessions. Evening appointments are available, and Karen is available between appointments 24/7 by phone, email, and text.

Timeframe and Fees:

Outplacement packages are available in varying month time frames with reasonable fees, lowered for longer packages. In 2025 the Department of Labor reported the average unemployment period as just over six months. If a barrier exists such as age, salary requirements, or career change, the timeframe could be longer.
