Health Careers Futures was established in 2002 to ensure the future of Southwestern Pennsylvania's health care industry. By 2008, the demand for healthcare industry employees is projected to outstrip the supply by almost 125,000 people.

The top five areas in demand had recently been listed as:

• Respiratory Therapy
